  • Run the command line – Windows Key + R
  • In the run box, type MSC
  1. In the service window, look for QuickBooksDBXX service
  2. If it is not there, install Database Server Manager and enable the hosting
  3. Open QuickBooksDBXX service and ensure that service status and Startup type has begun
  4. Click Recovery
  5. Restart QuickBooksDBXX service
  6. Click on Save Changes and exit
  7. Follow the same procedure for verifying QBCFMonitor Service
  8. Now on each workstation, open QuickBooks in the multi-user mode

Verify The Hosting

  1. On your hosting computers open QuickBooks > File > Utilities
  2. In the Utilities, if you see Host Multi-User Access, do not change it; this system is not hosting the file. Move to the next system
  3. In the next system or computer, if there you see Stop Hosting Multi-User Access, click open it
  4. A ‘File Must Be Closed’ window will pop up, tick Yes.

Options 3 – For Your Company Data File, Create A New Folder And Enable Share Company Files Access To Share It

  1. On your hosting computer, configure windows to get access to share company files by creating a folder for the company data file.
  2. Copy .qbw to the newly created folder
  3. Now in the multi-user mode, open the company data file
